[[Enterobacter Cloacae is a Gram-Negative, Rod-Shaped Bacterium that has Peritrichous Flagella, measures 0.3-0.6 x 0.8-2.0 µm, is Oxidase-Negative, catalase-positive, and is facultatively anaerobic. The bacterium is positive for Beta-Galactosidase, Arginine Dihydrolase, Ornithine Decarboxylase, citrate utilization, Nitrate reduction, and Voges-Proskauer reaction..
- AKA: E. Cloacae.
- Context:
- It grows well on standard Bacteriological Media on which yellow Pigment and purple stain are not produced.

- PMID 1702778: “We have described a gene coding for an Enterobacter cloacae protein, provisionally called OmpX . In the work reported here, OmpX was localized in the cell envelope by means of sucrose gradient fractionation of membrane vesicles .”
