A Tangent Function is a trigonometric function and ratio between sine and cosine functions

- It can be defined as the ratio between lengths of the opposite ([math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math]) and adjacent side ([math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math]) to the acute angle ([math]\displaystyle{ \theta }[/math]) in a right triangle :[math]\displaystyle{ \tan(\theta)= \frac{a}{b}= \frac{\sin(\theta)}{\cos(\theta)} }[/math]
