    • monotonic: One of the possible values for strength. If a formula is asserted with a strength of :monotonic, the resulting assertion(s) will have a truth value of either monotonically true or monotonically false, depending on whether or not the asserted formula was negated. Monotonic rules may never have exceptions, and monotonic GAFs will never have their truth values changed in the course of argumentation. The only way a monotonic assertion can be removed from the inference playing field is by unasserting it. See also default.
